Why I believe Ken Lay committed suicide

I know it seems crazy but I think Ken Lay killed himself to avoid jail, protect his assets from being seized, and wipe his conviction from the records. The Wall Street Journal printed an article that give you the reason. Plus he had enough money to get the job done right so that there wouldn't be any questions arising during his autopsy.

Also Lay's former mentor, Jack Bowen, said he'd lunched with Lay about six months ago. At the time, Lay seemed upbeat. Said Bowen: "He enjoyed life. He played golf and tennis. He kept himself in great physical shape. I was surprised to hear about this. Of course, he was under great stress." (read)

He screwed people out of their retirement savings and now he screwed the U.S. government out of the conviction he rightly deserved.

I guess NYC does not have any terrorist targets...NOT

Authorities arrested suspects who are being accused of plotting to blow up New York City subway tunnels.

I'd like to ask the Homeland Security Department if they still think its fair that they cut the funding of NYC by 40%? New York City is still one of the top targets as long as Wall Street, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, etc., still exist. Homeland Security has got to be kidding the American people when they cut funding to NY and Washington D.C.

This all proves the hypocrisy of this government who claims they want to protect us all the while they cut funding to the highest target areas in the country, they stop hunting for bin Laden, cut funding to the VA hospital, ignore the threat of North Korea, ignore Afghanistan (the real war) and allow the Taliban to regain control of the country because we do not have enough troops there, and so on.

Remember whatever you here from Republican politicians, the opposite is true. Especially when you are hearing it from the White House, Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Rumsfeld. Whatever they say think of what the opposite would be and 99% chance that the opposite is the real truth.

Just like the idea that NYC has "zero terrorist targets."

C.I.A. not looking for bin Laden

Folks our own governemt is no longer looking for the man who is supposedly responsible for the 9/11 attacks the President bases all his speeches on. All the wiretapping, bank record viewing, and other domestic spying programs were all started because of the acts of this one man and his followers.

We already know Bush "doesn't spend much time thinking about him." (Bush actually said that!) Now our CIA has gotten in lockstep with the administration and given up looking for the Al Qaeda leader.

I know that I am personally offended by all the song and dance we have been given for the last 5 years about how dangerous this guy is. All the color coded fear tactics we have been subjected to. The illegal spying on Americans, bank records being looked at, phone tapping, Patriot Act, etc. And now they are just going to stop looking for this guy! This is total B.S. Looks like the government is "cutting and running" in it's war on terror.

I would love to hear what you guys think.
