Bush "My Government"
Be aware that George Bush asserted again that the Senate's upcoming no confidence vote of Alberto Gonzales wouldn't effect who works in "my government."
The no-confidence bill is largely symbolic. Congress cannot force the attorney general to resign. He serves at the pleasure of the president. President Bush underscored that fact at a news conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he criticized the vote as political and said, "They can try to have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to … make the determination who serves in my government."
This is a very frightening phrase that is not accidental. Mr. Bush believes he is the almighty chosen ruler of the United States of America and does not have to answer to anyone. He doesn't have to listen to Congress, the Supreme Court, or the poeple of this country. He believes he is King.
This "my government" comment has been made been made before. Here's how Mr. Bush defended the Dubai decision: "The more people learn about the transaction that has been scrutinized and approved by my government, the more they'll be comforted..."
In February, President Bush, while responding to a reporter’s question on the controversy surrounding the management of six U.S. ports being turned over to a United Arab Emirates-owned company, remarked that the transaction had been vetted by "my government" and that the ports would remain secure. Remember in the cabinet meeting he said, "don’t worry about security, my government has taken a look at this and everything’s alright?"
People he is not hiding his feelings, he is telling us to our faces and he have been recorded on videotape. Will you wake up to the truth of what is going on before it is too late?
